Titan Assembly Supervisor, Danny Vincent, has transferred many of the skills he has learned in his 15 year career at Titan into restoring his 1961 Ford 100E Popular.
Having been interested in Ford cars since he was a teenager he made the decision to buy the 35bhp Ford in 2012. The classic car was completed and on the road just in time to be used as a friend’s wedding car in July this year.
“I love the styling of these cars but with only 35bhp and a 3 speed gearbox, they're not exactly exciting. The idea was to keep the original looks of the car, but update the mechanical underpinnings to a more modern set up so that the car was faster, safer and could comfortably deal with the pace of modern traffic” commented Danny.
Knowing the quality of Titan’s aftermarket products, Danny fitted the car with a set of Titan throttle bodies, an English limited slip differential, hydraulic clutch slave cylinders and also a water rail that Titan manufactures for Raceline. Future plans for the car also involve fitting a Titan steering rack and dry sump kit.
“The build has increased my understanding of the parts we currently manufacture, and will hopefully allow me to help develop future Titan products” continued Danny.
“We are very pleased that Danny chose to use our products while restoring his Ford. I think it’s a great testament to the products we produce and the enthusiasm our employees have for the products they make. The car looks and performs great and I think that Danny should be proud of what he has achieved” said Zoe Timbrell, Sales and Marketing Manager.
Unlike many classic car rebuilds the car has not been solely built for displaying at shows but to be driven as frequently as possible and enjoyed as it originally would have been.
If you’re doing your own car project or rebuild with any Titan products, why don’t you get in touch we’d love to hear from you.
