Job Description – Production Engineering Manager
To work as part of, and to manage, a small team in a fast paced and dynamic Production Engineering department.
The main functions of the department and the role are;
To aid the initial quotation of jobs by reviewing the 3D solid model to help determine suitability for manufacture and a proposed manufacturing method.
To design production machining jigs and fixtures using Autodesk Inventor 3D modelling software.
To program the CNC code to manufacture the part using the latest Edgecam CAM software.
To select and apply suitable cutting tools ensuring the efficient manufacturing and maximum material removal rates.
To implement parts in to production by working closely with the manufacturing team.
To liaise with our client’s design and engineering departments in order to address any engineering queries and support their desire for a “designed for manufacturing” component.
Periodically support sales visits, offering technical support as required.
This is a senior role and we are therefore looking for an experienced individual who has a proven track record in a similar environment and job role.
You will ideally have;
Experience using Inventor 3d solid modelling or similar.
Experience programming using Edgecam or similar CAM software up to and including 5 axis.
Experience working with castings.
A good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
A production orientated, flexible approach with a strong team ethic and a determination to succeed.
An ability to work well under pressure, with a keen eye for detail and able to meet production deadlines whilst maintaining the highest quality standards.
An ability to communicate confidently and clearly at all levels.
Strong management skills.
