Following last year’s launch of a brand new range of throttle bodies featuring carbon fibre trumpets, Titan used this year’s show to announce the addition of a brand new Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) facility to their existing premises.
The addition of the facility will allow Titan to offer a complete service for the production of carbon fibre components, right through from initial component design to final manufacture, entirely in house. It further allows Titan to optimise existing designs, whether designed for another carbon fibre process or for another material entirely, to suit the RTM process.
The RTM production method was chosen due to the fact that it enables the production of high quality components with a smooth ‘Double A side’ finish on all faces of the part, unlike some alternative processes which can only produce a smooth surface on one of the part faces.
“Investing in the RTM equipment was a logical step for us”, explains Titan’s Sales & Marketing Manager Zoë Timbrell, “it enables us to offer additional ranges of components in carbon fibre, and as we are in complete control of the entire manufacturing process, we can offer clients a lot of flexibility in meeting their engineering challenges.”
Zoë continues: “This is a further example of Titan’s commitment to quality and service, and what better show to announce it at than PMW where we introduced our Carbon Fibre throttle bodies last year.”
