Production Engineer
The Role
We are seeking a Production Engineer to join our dynamic team. You’ll be based in the technical hub of our business supporting several departments working towards one common goal. You’ll work closely with the Technical Operations Manager and play an important role in hitting KPI targets and driving work through business to our fast-paced internal CNC workshop.
Activities
Produce CNC programs using the latest OpenMind Hypermill software.
Identify and specify the most appropriate cutting tools to ensure efficient material removal rates.
Design, model and draw fixture components for internal use.
Liaise with our Design team and Technical Operations Manager to support the design for manufacture process ensuring the most efficient design is adopted for manufacturing of components.
Help to problem solve engineering issues during the machining process and take corrective action to create conforming parts to drawing.
Carry out method reviews on complex parts understanding GD+T requirements and presenting machining strategies to a cross functional team of engineers.
Meet and beat estimated cycle times to help maximise output on the shopfloor.

Person Specification
Experience:
Experienced and skilled CNC machinist within a precision manufacturing environment.
Experience using OpenMind Hypermill software would be advantageous but not essential.
Working with castings would be beneficial but not essential.
Experience using multiple work holding methods to ensure engineering best practice is carried out.
Experienced with various machining methods to achieve efficient material removal rates.
Skills:
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent computer and programming skills using CAD/CAM software packages.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings with a good understanding of GD&T.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Personal Traits:
Proactive and target driven.
Happy to work as part of a team and autonomously when required.
Can adapt to rapidly changing work demands and perform tasks under tight deadlines.
