Mechanical Inspector

The Role

  • To inspect a wide range of precision machined components to the exacting standards of the engineering drawing whilst maintaining the requirements of the company’s ISO 9001:2008 and IATF 16949 quality accreditations.

  • To carry out and be responsible for the day-to-day inspection of precision machined components to the exacting standards of the engineering drawing, using a wide range of standard measuring equipment.  To inspect and sign off the “First Off” component for each batch of production parts.

  • To pro-actively drive quality through the manufacturing process by following the company’s quality procedures and by working closely with all relevant teams within the manufacturing facility.  To liaise as required with suppliers and clients alike as and when quality issues arise.

Person Specification

Experience of working in a similar dynamic environment, using relevant measuring equipment, understanding Quality Management Systems, being able to read and understand engineering drawings is essential.  Whilst an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing would prove an advantage, training could be given if required.  Experience of the PPAP process and ISIR and FAIR reporting would also prove beneficial.
